‘Mountains and Rooftops’ Arctic Sanctuary Action on the Elbe Sandstone Mountains “Mountains & Rooftops”: Arktis-Aktion im Elbsandsteingebirge

A Greenpeace activist in a polar bear costume, joins other activists to display a “Save the Arctic” banner on top of the Elbe Sandstone Mountains in Germany. As international polling reveals that 74 percent of people worldwide support the creation of a protected sanctuary in the international waters surrounding the North Pole; climbers and mountaineers are ascending iconic mountain peaks and buildings all over the world, to demand that governments respond to the global outcry to make the creation of a protected Arctic Sanctuary a top priority.
